Shortages Summary Report

Shortages Summary Report provides information on your trades that have encountered Scrip Shortage (pay-out short or pay-in short). Shortage in scrip occurs when the selling party fails to provide securities before the pay-in-date. In this scenario, the selling party is penalized, whereas, the buying party is provided with scrips through auction or compensated through cash benefit by the exchange.

To view Shortages Summary of your account, click on Shortage Summary link given in Accounts Menu. On clicking, the system displays you the following window:

To ensure clear and concise view of Shortages details, we have divided this report into three tables. These are:

Short Securities in Previous Settlement

It gives you details about the scrips that were sold by you during previous settlements but are not available in your account at the moment. Note! One must ensure to provide these scrips in your account before the scheduled pay-in-date to avoid them going into auction; since it might invite penalty from the exchange due to scrip-shortage at your end. Pay-out Short (Securities Receivable via Auction Market

It provides details on those scrips were purchased by you but were not credited to your account on settlement day due to default by the counter-party. To know more about Pay-Out Short option, click here...

Pay-In Short (Securities due for Auction in the Exchange

It provides details on those scrips that you had sold during previous settlements but did not provide them on/before the Pay-in-Date, and hence, have gone for the auction (Pay-in Short). To know more about Pay-In Short option, click here...
